About Jennifer: 

I am Jennifer Okamoto, the owner of Jennifer Okamoto Fine Portraiture, a private portrait studio located in Mililani, Oahu, HI specializing in babies, young children, families, and maternity.

When you join the studio family, touching your heart with the images that I create and the service I provide is what I strive for every day and with every client.

Scheduling your appointment:

I allow a minimum of one hour for all photo sessions. For viewing sessions, allow 1 to 1 1/2 hours (the first is usually the longest). The studio is open for sessions Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Some particulars regarding scheduling:

• Maternity sessions:
  • are best held around 32 – 36 weeks of pregnancy, to ensure that you have a nice round belly but are not so far along that you are uncomfortable.
• Newborn sessions:
  • for best newborn images, hold your session when baby is between 3 and 14 days old. Generally, babies under 2 weeks are the most pliable, which helps in getting some of those incredibly cute newborn poses. Babies up to 6 weeks are eligible for the newborn session though babies between 2 and 6 weeks are not always as pliable or cooperative as the younger ones.
• Babies & small children:
  • most importantly, you will want to select a time that coincides with your child's schedule. You will also want to avoid scheduling a photo session sooner than several days following immunization appointments - you never know if there will be a reaction and it's best to play it safe.

Reschedules:

Babies and children usually need to be at their best to photograph well. Still, I can't tell you how often a parent has brought in a child who's a little under the weather and they do just fine. It's a grey area, so here's a few rules of thumb – consider rescheduling if any of the following apply and if you are in doubt, contact me and we’ll figure it out together:

• if your child is running a fever
• has eyes that look 'sick'
• is throwing up
• is listless
• was up half the night
• has significant swelling on the face as a result of an injury

Your Session:

This studio is an appointment-only studio, which means that I am completely focused on you when you are with me. I always encourage you to personalize your session however you would like and share with me any needs or desires you have. In particular, please do share with me beforehand any concerns that you may have - for instance, it's helpful to know if a child is especially shy, has special needs or reacts well (or not so well) to certain stimuli. My approach is always open and relaxed. I will spend time with you and your child, because connecting with you is the surest way to awesome images.

Viewing & Ordering:

Viewing of your images is done in-studio in the awesome multimedia room using projection and the latest and greatest software to help you select your very favorite images. I will schedule your viewing appointment immediately following your photo session, usually the following week. Generally, allow 1 1/2 hours for your first viewing, 1 hour for subsequent viewings. Also immediately following your photo session, I will provide you with a detailed pricing guide, so that you can review it your convenience before returning for your viewing. I will manage your viewing and am incredibly patient. I will assist you in determining your favorite images and the package that is right for you. I may offer you alternatives, but I will never try to force you into a package that you do not want. I do expect that you will make decisions at the viewing regarding your images and your investment, so please be sure to bring any and all individuals who need to participate in these decisions.

Delivery:

Turnaround time on most orders is approximately 4 to 6 weeks from the date the order is placed and finalized. I am available for scheduled pickup during studio hours. All products except albums and wall pieces may be shipped at your convenience. (I package appropriately to ensure safe delivery); I can provide you with information on shipping and handling fees if you are interested.

Payment:

For payment, the studio accepts cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. I also provide INTEREST-FREE PAYMENT PLANS for most packages and can work with you to select a plan that will best fit your budget. This is not a lay-away - you may take your portraits home and enjoy them while comfortably paying for them over time.
